Thanksgiving Day is over. I hope you all got to enjoy a good turkey dinner. Myself, I got home about 12:30 from a 15 hour trip to Indy, just in time for our turkey dinner. I went to bed immediately afterward for 4 hours then I was on the road again. Doesn’t sound like much fun does it? I’m thankful for many things, my family, friends, and my job. I’m thankful for those who make the decision to “Donate Life” so that others may live on. I’m thankful for not only our people at IOPO, but all the doctors, nurses, and hospitals that make it possible for those who receive the give of Life from those donors, to enjoy another Thanksgiving. I am happy to give up my day, and play my small part to help make it all happen. (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, visit www.iopo.org)
I guess it is a “thing” now that during November you’re suppose to write down every day, one thing you’re thankful for (or 30 things). I’m a little late on doing that, and I’ve probably got more than 30, but just for the record I should list a few. As I mention these they will not be in order of importance so keep that in mind. First off, of course, I’m thankful for my wife, this is our 44th year together giving thanks. I’m thankful for our children, and the grandkids they’ve given us. I’m also thankful for my brothers and sister, their kids, my inlaws, outlaws, Aunts, Uncles, cousins, just about the whole fam damily (except for maybe a couple). As Christmas is fast approaching I would shower you all with gifts since I’m making a ton of money now. Trouble is they only give to us one ounce at a time, so for now you’ll just have to accept my love and thanks.
I’m also thankful that I don’t have to sign up for Obamacare. Thankfully the VA is taking care of my medical needs (for now anyway). I’m thankful that our President’s days are numbered and I hope we get a better one next election, and he/she won’t be such a turkey. Under the old healthcare system the hospitals would pad the accounts of those who could pay so the uninsured would get care. Now the government has taken over the job and padded the premiums of those who can pay to offset the premiums of those who can’t, but at least you have coverage (?).
Special thanks to the women in my life: my wife for everything she says she does for me. My daughters, who are also looking out for me. My granddaughters who love me unconditionally, and one of whom has dedicated her life to picking on me every chance she gets.
Ten things I think I figured out about women:
1. Some women are women.   2. Women trying to act like a man are more manly than men.   3. Some women were men, they changed because they were tired of being wrong all the time. 4. Women are always right, even when they're being a man. (Even if this contradicts the rule that men are always wrong.)  5. Men who dress up as women are still wrong. 6. Women have perfect hearing, eyesight, and of course memory. 7. Women who tell you to "Man up!", are just telling you to do something they don't want to do. Likewise the phrase "You're the man around here" carries the same meaning. 8. Women do all the thinking, I'm told men never think. 9. I don't know as much about women as I thought, because she said so. 10. And finally, just when I thought I figured her out, she introduced "new math."
